We’re seeking amazing photos from amateur photographers that highlight the best of America’s federal lands, national parks and historical sites in these categories:
Adventure & Outdoor Recreation
Share photos of your favorite activities and adventures on federal lands across America’s Great Outdoors – camping, hiking, biking, boating, fishing, kayaking, skiing, climbing, riding, etc.
Historical & Cultural
Inspire with images depicting historical locations and cultural events – from national historical sites and monuments to cultural celebrations on federal lands
Scenic, Seasons & Landscapes
Capture scenic vistas and sweeping landscapes — fall foliage, forests, winter wonderlands, flowers, mountains, deserts, canyons, lakes, beaches, rivers, and more.
Friends, Family & Fun(ny) on Federal Lands
Enter your spontaneous and not-so-serious snapshots in this category – capture your family and friends enjoying the outdoors or enter amusing photos of animals or wildlife.
Wildlife
Take a walk on the wild side with photos of wildlife on federal lands – mammals, birds, insects, reptiles. Keep your distance and stay safe!

Eligibility: Legal residents of the fifty United States and DC, and at least 13 years of age or older as of June 27, 2012.

Photos must be taken on the lands or within the facilities of these participating agencies:
National Park Service
U.S. Bureau of Land Management
U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
U.S. Forest Service

Copyright and usage of your entry: Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Contestants retain the copyright to their photographs. By virtue of a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license for the photographs granted by the Contestants (parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor in his/her state of residence) to the Sponsors and Federal Recreation Agencies, Sponsors and Federal Recreation Agencies shall have the right to edit, adapt and publish any or all of the descriptions and/or photographs submitted (collectively, the “Entries”), and may use them in any media in association with the Promotion and/or the promotion of the Federal Lands and sponsor’s promotions without compensation to the Contestant (parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor in his/her state of residence), his or her successors or assigns, or any other entity.

By entering the Promotion, Contestants agree to have their submitted photograph used and displayed, either singularly or in combination with others and in any size, on the National Park Foundation Gallery Contest website, on the “Share the Experience” website and on the websites, social media, and print materials of the Sponsors, Prize Sponsors and Federal Recreation agencies without any fee or other form of compensation due at any time for so long as desired by the National Park Foundation and Sponsors. Credits, descriptions or titles, if any, used with the photos are in the Sponsors’ or Federal Recreation Agencies’ sole discretion
