XXII TIPA AWARDS (2012)

The annual meeting of the Technical Image Press Association to vote for the best photographic and imaging products in 2012 was held on 24 March 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa.

This year at the TIPA General Assembly 29 member magazines and the Camera Journal Press Club (CJPC) of Japan voted for the best product in each category. The General Assembly selected the best photo and imaging products in 2012 in 40 categories.

TIPA has member magazines from nine European countries plus Australia, Canada, China, South Africa and the USA.

Prizes: The winners prize for each category is an EOS Mark 5D plus an EF40mm f2.8 STM lens. The prize for the voters competition will be a Canon EOS 650D.

Copyright: The User will retain copyright and moral rights in his/her images and grants Canon, its affiliates and sub-licensees the irrevocable, royalty free, license to publish and publicly display Image on the Canon websites up until 31 December 2012 and solely and exclusively for the purpose of promoting the Competitions and any associated activities.

Aspiring and professional photographers and anyone who is happiest behind the lens of their camera will have a chance to express their passion for photography during Canon South Africa’s Photographic Competition launching on 15 August 2012. There are over R150 000 worth of prizes to be won, making it one of the biggest and certainly the most creative photographic competitions ever run by Canon South Africa.

Selected entries will be exhibited online on Canon SA’s Expo website (www.csaexpo.co.za) as well as on the expo’s Facebook site (search Canon SA Expo on FB). The top 10 entries in each category will also be exhibited in the gallery at the Canon Expo where visitors will be able to vote for their favourite entries.

EOS Photo5 is Canon’s annual creative photography competition that begins with a little brown box. Inside there are 5 individual photographic briefs to challenge your creativity. You can also enter our Portfolio Competition for another shot at the amazing prizes. There are only a limited number of boxes available, but don’t worry if you miss out on a box – everyone gets the chance to enter the Open Brief.

Prizes: A trip with Jackie Ranken and Mike Langford. The trip includes return economy airfares from winner’s nearest capital city, 3 nights’ accommodation, buffet breakfast (two mornings) and dinner daily, a Kata Tjuta Sunrise Tour, Indigenous Guest Activity Program and a creative photography workshop with Jackie Ranken and Mike Langford..
